The Story Behind Just For Fudge
How It All Began
Just For Fudge started the way many sweet traditions do — with a grandmother, a craving, and a promise.
One afternoon in early 2022, I was sitting with my grandma when she said she was in the mood for some fudge. Tired from the day, she didn’t want to stand over the stove. So I offered to make it — if she taught me how.
She agreed… with one condition:
“I’ll tell you how to make it — if you make a business out of it.”
And that’s exactly what we did.
A Family Business in Every Way
We incorporated HLD Products, LLC in March 2022 — named after the people who made this all possible:
Henry (my dad), Lynne (my mom and me), and De'La (me).
Together, we launched Just For Fudge a month later — and haven’t looked back since.
From day one, it’s been a full family affair:

My grandma’s recipe laid the foundation

My mom, siblings, and in-loves have pitched in at events

My nieces and nephews? They inspire entire flavors by name
Our Faith Is Our Foundation
On every box, you’ll find Psalm 34:8:
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
This isn’t just a slogan — it’s a way of life.
We want every interaction with us to reflect the goodness of God.
Through hospitality, craftsmanship, and how we treat people, our prayer is that you taste more than just fudge — you taste care, intention, and joy.
Why we Do This
We’re proudly a Christian-owned, Black-owned, Woman-owned, and a Detroit-native business.
But this isn’t just about making candy.
It’s about:
Creating jobs in underserved communities
Uplifting entrepreneurship in the Black community
Being the change we want to see through consistent, meaningful action
Showing future generations what’s possible
“Practicality, not perfection. When you refuse to give up there’s no such thing as a loss in business — just lessons.”
